Circulating Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Circulating Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties within the operating room, providing essential support to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate cases and assist with turnover cleaning.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Schedule surgical cases.
• Independently circulate for a variety of procedures, including:
• General Surgery
• Orthopedic Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Ophthalmic Surgery
• Urology Surgery
• ENT Surgery
• Endoscopy
• Robotic Surgery
• Obstetrics
• Gynecology

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of circulating experience in a hospital setting.
• Ability to scrub cases is preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• State of Hawaii RN license required.

Work Environment and Schedule

The operating room operates Monday through Friday from 0645 to 2315, with variable shifts based on departmental needs. Travelers will typically be scheduled for 40 hours per week, with a possibility of reduced hours during holidays. Call coverage is required, and each staff member will be assigned call on average 1-2 times per week along with up to 2 weekends a month.

It is essential that candidates are located within a 30-minute radius of the facility for call availability.

Orientation and Contract Details

Successful candidates will orient on the day shift for up to 1 week, as determined by management. Travelers are expected to complete a minimum of 39 shifts during their contract duration, including any approved requested time off.

Additional Information

Scrubs will be provided for the position. New hires are required to arrive the Thursday before their start date to attend an employee health appointment on Friday. Please confirm availability to meet this requirement before accepting the offered start date.
