Registered Nurse (RN) – OB/GYN

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Obstetrics and Gynecology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in both adult and pediatric settings, with a focus on maternal and fetal health.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for obstetric and gynecological patients.
• Perform and document assessments on patients, ensuring appropriate care plans are developed and implemented.
• Administer medications and immunizations, including emergency medications as needed.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and laboratory results, including blood glucose levels.
• Teach patients and families about health conditions, treatment plans, and wellness strategies.
• Assist in various women’s health issues, including ectopic pregnancies, placenta abruption/previa, and pregnancy-induced hypertension.
• Utilize external fetal heart monitoring (EFM) and assess for vaginal bleeding and other complications.
• Engage in phone triage and provide scheduling and authorization documentation as required.
• Maintain universal precautions and adhere to biohazard waste disposal guidelines.
• Perform venipuncture and assist with starting IVs as necessary.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota state nursing license; pending license accepted with expedited processing.
• Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Beginner and Intermediate, BLS, NRP.
• Proven clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology settings.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret arrhythmias, manage cardiac arrest situations, and provide CPR.
• Knowledge in managing conditions related to hypertension and altered levels of consciousness.
• Maintained patient care records accurately and engage in patient teaching initiatives.

Work Schedule

The position requires 72 hours every two weeks, with 12-hour day and night rotations, including every third weekend.
