Registered Nurse (RN) – OB/GYN

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Registered Nurse to join our OB/GYN team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and be able to provide excellent patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Role Responsibilities

• Administer medications and immunizations as per established protocols.
• Perform patient assessments and triage to ensure appropriate level of care.
• Conduct blood glucose monitoring and manage anticoagulation therapy.
• Provide patient education and support regarding women’s health issues, including pregnancy-related conditions.
• Utilize external fetal heart monitoring and interpret arrhythmias related to cardiovascular health.
• Execute emergency response actions, including CPR and management of cardiac arrest situations.
• Prepare authorization forms, schedule appointments, and assist with telephone triage tasks.
• Maintain strict adherence to universal precautions and biohazard waste disposal guidelines.
• Assist in laboratory tests, imaging results, and patient teaching for ongoing care.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota state nursing license (or pending application accepted).
• ACLS, AWHONN Beginner and Intermediate, BLS, and NRP certifications required.
• Proficient in starting IVs and venipuncture for both adult and pediatric patients.
• Knowledgeable in handling various medical emergencies and conditions, including chest pain and neurological changes.
• Experience with women’s health issues, including ectopic pregnancy and pregnancy-induced hypertension.

Shift Details

This position involves working 72 hours every two weeks, rotating between 12-hour day and night shifts, with every third weekend required.
