Respiratory Therapist (RRT-NICU)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Respiratory Therapists with a specialization in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the care of critically ill pediatric patients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Scheduling Details

• Contract lengths of 13 or 26 weeks available, starting in November.
• Shifts are night shifts, working 4×12 hour schedules (19:00 – 07:00).
• Options to work either 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Participation in 2 of the 3 winter holidays is required.
• The unit utilizes a self-scheduling model; while preferences may be accommodated, specific schedules cannot be guaranteed.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care for NICU patients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor and assess patients’ respiratory status and respond to changes in condition as necessary.
• Utilize appropriate respiratory interventions and therapies as per protocols.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 4 NICU experience.
• Cardiac PICU experience is preferred.
• Current certifications required: RRT, BLS, and NRP.
• ACCS certification is preferred.
• License requirements: Virginia license pending is acceptable provided a temporary license can be obtained before the start date. Candidates must hold a license from another state to be eligible for temporary licensure.
