Respiratory Therapist (RRT-NICU)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This position involves working with critically ill infants requiring advanced respiratory care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to neonates in the NICU setting.
• Utilize advanced therapeutic interventions for patients requiring high-level respiratory support.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Engage in self-scheduling practices while being flexible to accommodate unit needs.
• Participate in on-going education and training programs to maintain high standards of care.

Schedule

This position offers both 36 and 48-hour work schedules, primarily working night shifts of 3×12 hours. The candidate must be available for every other weekend and holiday, with a requirement to work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in Virginia, with the ability to obtain a temporary license if required.
• Level 4 NICU experience is essential.
• Cardiac Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience is preferred.
• Certification in RRT is required; additional certifications in BLS and NRP are also necessary.
• ACCS certification is preferred.

Additional Information

The unit operates under a self-scheduling model, which will be explained in the interview process. While the schedule cannot be guaranteed, every effort will be made to accommodate employee preferences.
