ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) who is comfortable working in a stepdown unit with a patient load of up to three patients. This role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to manage complex patient needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a stepdown unit setting.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding to changes as necessary.
• Administer medications and manage various intravenous drips including insulin, cardizem, heparin, Lasix, precedex, and low-dose pressors.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding their conditions and treatment options.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (must be AHA).
• Current ACLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Strong familiarity with EMR systems, particularly Epic.

Additional Information

• Patient to nurse ratio: 1:3.
• Weekend requirement: 5 shifts every 6 weeks.
• Holiday requirement: Every other holiday.
• First to float policy in place.
• Floor orientation: 3 days.
• Typical patient conditions include respiratory diseases, neurological disorders, and chronic illnesses, including COVID-19.
• Scrub colors: Navy blue pants and solid navy blue or solid white tops; long-sleeve shirts must be navy or white.
