Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience required
• At least 1 travel assignment completed
• Certifications Required:
  • ACLS
  • BLS Certification
  • CPI
  • NIHSS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
• Must have experience with Meditech EMR 6.15

Shift Information

Shift runs from 7 PM to 7 AM. Weekend work required every other weekend, with holiday shifts also required every other holiday.

Patient Care & Environment

Responsible for providing care in a busy emergency room, handling approximately 180-200 patient visits per day. The nurse will manage both adult and pediatric patients, including trauma cases. The unit includes:

• Psych/seclusion rooms, with a 6-bed behavioral lockdown area staffed with psychiatric professionals.
• Support from nurse aides/paramedics (5-6 per shift).
• Security and patient sitters to ensure safety within the ER.
• Central monitoring technician for telemetry.

Respiratory therapy services are available 24/7, and pharmacy coverage is on-campus around the clock.

Responsibilities

• Perform IV starts and lab draws independently.
• Exhibit strong patient assessment skills and provide immediate care to diverse patient populations.
• Collaborate with ER physicians and advanced practice providers, including monitoring shifts of various providers throughout the day.

Additional Information

Orientation is provided over 2 shifts, with specific emphasis on completing orientation requirements during the first week of employment. Compliance with the auto-lunch deduction policy is mandatory. Scrubs must be Caribbean Blue.
