Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency environment. This position requires a strong background in emergency medicine and the ability to handle complex patient situations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals in emergency situations, including medication administration, wound care, and life-saving interventions.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) to document care and track patient progress.
• Manage patient care in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
• Supervise and assist Nursing Aides and Paramedics as needed.
• Collaborate with Emergency Department (ED) physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning processes.
• Adhere to safety, regulatory, and compliance standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of experience in emergency nursing, with at least 1 travel assignment.
• Current ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Proficient in using Meditech EMR systems (version 6.15 preferred).
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be willing to follow the 75-mile radius rule for applicants.

Additional Information

• Shift length is 12 hours, primarily evenings (1 PM – 1 AM).
• Average daily patient volume is approximately 180-200 visits.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 to 4.
• Staffing includes Nurse Aides, Paramedics, Central Monitoring Techs, and dedicated Respiratory Therapists who manage ventilators in the ER.
• Orientation includes two shifts to ensure familiarity with unit protocols and procedures.
