Registered Nurse (RN) – Whole House Float ICU/PCU/MS

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This is a Whole House Float position covering ICU, PCU, and MS units. Candidates must be comfortable working across all three specialties and must have experience with nurse-to-patient ratios of at least 1:5.

Scheduling Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Details: 3x12s, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Charting: Experience with EPIC is required
• Floating: Staffing needs are re-evaluated every 4 hours; travelers may float 2-3 times per shift
• Weekend Requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday during the 13-week contract

Qualifications

• Licenses & Certifications: Must possess ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Pending licenses accepted if from a non-compact state.
• Clinical Skills Required:
  • Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
  • Experienced with PICC line management, central line care, and arterial line management
  • Skilled in non-invasive airway support, including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator management
  • Capable of managing chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac) and monitoring cardiac patients
  • Experienced in administering continuous IV sedation and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Background: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience in a large Level 1 or Level 2 facility

Unit Details

• ICU Average Ratio: 2:1
• PCU Average Ratio: 5:1
• MS Average Ratio: 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1)

• All time-off requests, block scheduling, and special requests must be included at submission
• Call-off policy allows for 1 shift cancellation every 2 weeks
