Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry

Position Information:

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN License (eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
• NIHSS certification (must obtain prior to start if not currently held)
• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience
• Experience and competence in drug titration

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 30
• Patient Ratios: Days 1:5-1:6, nights 1:6-1:7 (not guaranteed)
• Equipment: Telemetry equipment, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
• EMR: EPIC
• Type of Patients: Medical or medical telemetry patients, cardiac overflow

Job Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the effectiveness of care and collaborates with ancillary departments to ensure optimal patient comfort and well-being. Functions consistently within established nursing practices and guidelines, as well as adhering to the relevant nurse practice acts.

Working Conditions and Requirements:

Requires standing and walking for the majority of the shift with physical demands that include bending, lifting, and turning patients with assistance. Flexible scheduling may be needed based on patient care requirements. High risk exposure to blood and body fluids. Strong physical abilities to meet unit-specific demands are necessary.
