Registered Nurse (RN): Med/Surg

Position Overview

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical department. The position requires dedication to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Position Information

• Role: RN
• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift: Night Shift (7 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Hours: Rotating schedule every other weekend
• Call Requirements: May be required based on census, including float assignments

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Med/Surg experience
• Pass a background check, including verification against the state’s Abuse Registry before assignment start date

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 19
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Common Equipment: Welch Allyn vital machines, masimno at bedside, Careview telemetry, Sara Stedy and ARJO lift
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost
• Patient Population: Primarily geriatric and adult; limited pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including assessments, medication administration, and care plan execution.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition.
• Floating to medical detox, ICU, OB, or ER as needed and handling low-level Med/Surg overflow patients in ICU with a patient ratio of 1:3.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and interventions.
