Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Notes: 4×10 hour shifts, 6:15 AM to 5:15 PM, 40 hours/week.

Weekend Requirements: On-call schedule and required to cover holidays if needed.

On-Call Requirements: 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month.

This position requires a highly skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to support surgical procedures in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in both scrub and circulating roles, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and surgical efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assist in the setup of the operating room for scheduled procedures.
• Verify the accurate and complete preparation of supplies, instruments, equipment, and special order items prior to surgery.
• Open and dispense sterile items safely and accurately.
• Assess special needs related to patient history, surgical procedures, positioning requirements, and expected duration of procedures.
• Count sponges, sharps, and instruments with the scrub person to ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Capture accurate charges for items utilized in the operating room for patient-specific billing.

Note: Requested time off during the assignment must be noted during submission. A maximum of 5 days of time off will be accepted. Travelers may not take all holidays off and must work during specified busy holiday blocks.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of current Operating Room experience required.
• Experience in both scrub and circulating roles is essential.
• Experience with orthopedic and neurological procedures is required.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records is necessary.
• Must possess a valid RN license in New Hampshire or a Compact RN license.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Must have reliable transportation, as this is a rural area with no public transport.
