Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Intermediate Care Unit. The ideal candidate will have a current Illinois nursing license along with certifications in CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS. Verification of education from an accredited nursing program is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in providing patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing practices, policies, and standards of care.
• Document patient care according to established standards.
• Develop, initiate, and implement individualized patient care plans as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal care plan.
• Employ critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, appropriately escalating concerns through the chain of command as necessary.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license in Illinois.
• Certification in CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification required.
• Experience in an Intermediate Care Unit is preferred.
