Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Telemetry. This role requires a dedicated professional with a background in managing patients with various cardiac diseases and conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence, teamwork, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Caring for patients with cardiac conditions including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, and CAD.
• Monitoring and managing cardiac telemetry, including interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Performing sheath removal and managing cardiac drips, including titration as required.
• Assisting with post-operative care for procedures such as CABG, AVR, MVR, and TAVR.
• Collaborating with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care to patients in the cardiac step-down unit.
• Documenting patient care and communicating effectively within the team using established systems such as EPIC and SBAR.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor required.
• Traveler experience required unless the candidate has over 24 months of cardiac experience.
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Experience with PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown nursing.
• Certification in BLS & ACLS, NIHSS required.
• Knowledge of wound care, wound vac, and the management of arterial lines is preferred.
• Charge experience preferred but not required.

Shift and Scheduling Requirements

• Nights – 36 hours per week, working three 12-hour shifts (18:45 – 07:15).
• Floating within the unit as needed, following unit rotation.
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekends over a 4-week period (flexible).

Additional Information

Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters. Candidates will be required to pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.

Orientation and uniform

• Unit orientation: 24 hours.
• Scrubs: Navy.
