Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe and effective patient care by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the scope of practice and guiding patient/family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining high standards of care in the Birthplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process.
• Provide direct patient care to mothers and newborns during the antepartum and postpartum periods.
• Monitor and respond quickly to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses.
• Ensure a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Utilize the chain of command as needed to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care.
• Direct and guide patient/family education.
• Oversee the activities of other nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Current RN license as verified by Nursys.
• Completion of required personal health history documentation, including vaccines and health screenings.
• Driver’s license or state ID verification.
• Completion of professional exams and background checks as mandated.
• Education verification as required for the role.

Required Certifications and Documentation

• Verification of nursing license and certifications.
• Completion of health-related documentation including TB tests, hepatitis B vaccine, and others as specified.
• Submission of two professional references.
• Completion of orientation and training as required, including specialty-specific exams.
