Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and will be comfortable floating to the main operating room as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate in various surgical specialties including General Surgery, GYN, Urology, Brachytherapy, Breast, Plastics, Maxillofacial, ENT, Eyes, Hematology/Oncology, and Orthopedics.
• Manage a diverse caseload that includes both inpatient and outpatient procedures with a focus on pediatric patients.
• Administer blood and blood products and perform cardioversion/defibrillation as required.
• Utilize various medical equipment such as drains, syringe pumps, and wound vacs.
• Participate in call duties as scheduled, encompassing both weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Must have pediatric experience.
• A current compact nursing license is required.
• Candidates must be a minimum of 3 months separated from any previous employment in a non-Swedish facility to be eligible for this position.

Schedule

Position requires flexibility with scheduling, including 4×10 hour shifts. Call responsibilities include:

• 2 weekdays and 1 weekend call within a 6-week schedule.
• Call hours are 5 PM to 9 PM from Monday to Thursday, 5 PM to 11 PM on Friday, and 7 AM to 7 PM on Saturday.
• No call hours on Sundays.
• 30-minute travel time for callback or stay over at the end of the shift.
