Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse is accountable for providing care to patients in the Emergency Room by utilizing the Nursing Process in alignment with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. This role requires the demonstration of critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of patient care within the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical judgment in all patient interactions.
• Plan and implement strategies for safe patient care delivery.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and professional development.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision for assigned personnel involved in patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency care setting.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Current nursing license in Arizona.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
• Must be willing to float between departments as necessary.
• NIH Stroke Certification is recommended but not required.

Work Environment

This position involves working nights, with shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, on a 3×12 schedule. The emergency department is a Trauma Level III certified unit, equipped to handle stroke and STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction) patients.
