Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Shift Information: 12-Hour Day shift. Flexibility is required to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Minimum Experience Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care within a healthcare setting is required. In some cases, additional experience may be necessary.

Certifications and Requirements

• General Certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, NRP
• Nursing Certifications: AWHONN, STABLE (RNC-EFM may be substituted for AWHONN FHM)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor & Delivery team. The role includes responsibilities in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum rooms, Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI), and caring for newborns in rooms with their mothers. The average volume is approximately 40 deliveries and 6 C-sections per month. On occasion, the nurse may be required to serve as a charge nurse after completing charge nurse training.

Additional Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum settings.
• Assist with delivery procedures and care for newborns.
• Occasionally float to other departments if qualified and competent.
• Perform task-oriented duties, including answering call lights and phones as necessary.

Holiday coverage is required.
