Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients during their shift, functioning in accordance with the health system’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria while making clinical judgments based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN will also assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff, such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.

Shift Notes

• 12-Hour Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 Hour Guarantee
• Every Other Weekend Requirement
• No Call Requirement
• May float to all units within skill level if necessary

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field
• Commitment to punctuality and attendance for all assigned shifts
• Competence with cardiac medications, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex
• Proficient in telemetry with knowledge of heart rhythms
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to recognize changes in patient status and intervene appropriately
• Familiarity with signs and symptoms of stroke
• Excellent communication skills

Certification Requirements

• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Active NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Licensure Requirements

Must possess an active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse License.
