Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Position Overview

The role involves working in a Medical-Surgical unit with a capacity of 24 beds, where you will manage a diverse patient population. You will provide direct patient care and collaborate with other healthcare team members to create effective care plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and evaluate patient conditions, documenting observations and reporting changes as needed.
• Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in training and education of nursing staff and students.

Qualifications

• Active RN license to practice in the state.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferred 2+ years in a Medical-Surgical setting.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale certification (on-site training available).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Unit Information

• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech
• Weekend work and on-call requirements as needed.
