Job Description
Ultrasound Technologist
Shift Information
Monday – Friday 8 AM – 4:30 PM. No weekends, no holidays, no call required.
Experience
Minimum of less than 1 year of experience is required.
Certifications/Requirements
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) registration in Ultrasound Technology required
- Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or Radiology Technology
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire

Job Responsibilities
- Ensure all ultrasound images are of optimum diagnostic quality for accurate interpretation by the radiologist
- Follow established image criteria to assess images for required measurements, volumes, heart rates, and anatomical information
- Ensure all images include necessary demographic information, charts, graphs, and measurements
- Operate diagnostic ultrasound processing and printing equipment to produce high-quality final images
- Select appropriate technical factors and positioning techniques for optimal imaging
- Review and confirm physician orders for accuracy before starting examinations
- Document the review of requisitions/orders on the appropriate forms
- Accurately enter patient orders and financial information into the required computer system
- Coordinate daily schedules and patient flow to ensure timely completion of exams
- Maintain a safe environment for all patients and ensure accessibility of assistive devices
- Be aware of fall risks and implement measures to reduce accidents
- Communicate effectively with patients, ensuring understanding during interactions
- Recognize and respond appropriately to patients’ non-verbal expressions of pain
- Observe policies and procedures related to patient safety and well-being
