Job Description
CT/MRI Technologist
Position Purpose: Provides diagnostic imaging services to patients using various imaging modalities, ensuring accurate image acquisition, patient safety, and optimal patient care. Prioritizes patient education by clearly explaining procedures, equipment, and exams to promote understanding and cooperation.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
Position-Specific Responsibilities:
- Performs MRI procedures in accordance with established protocols.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures, including X-ray and fluoroscopy, as well as C-arm and operating room work.
- Practices radiation safety and adheres to ALARA standards.
- Operates imaging equipment consistent with manufacturer recommendations.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems and coordinates with service engineers for maintenance when necessary.
- Maintains accurate patient records in electronic health records (EHR), including charging for procedures and supplies.
- May be required to perform additional functions within the organization; training will be provided as needed.
- Exhibits flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and covering shifts as needed.
- Obtains additional training or certification as required.
- Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when necessary.
- Trains or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed.
- Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment, and work with minimal supervision.
- Orders, stocks, and maintains supply inventory.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education, Licensure(s), and Certification(s):
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R), including Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire or transfer).
Experience:
- Two (2) years of prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist, specifically in CT and MRI.
- Cross-training in other modalities, such as DEXA and mammography, is preferred.
- Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS, is advantageous.
