Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Telemetry

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Cardiac Telemetry unit. This is a fast-paced environment that requires a strong background in cardiac care, telemetry monitoring, and managing high patient volumes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to cardiac patients, including pre and post-procedure management.
• Monitor telemetry readings and respond to patient needs promptly.
• Administer medications and cardiac drips, including Cardiazem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone.
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to facilitate admissions and discharges.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment such as opti-flow and BiPAP as needed.
• Handle up to six patients at a time, adapting to patient flow and unit demands.

Schedule and Shift

• Full-time position with a 12-hour night shift from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Weekends required: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• Orientation required: 36 hours, available every day during the first week.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a similar fast-paced cardiac environment.
• Experience with telemetry and IV starts.
• Familiarity with cardiac drips and care for patients post-cardiac interventions.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale.
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.

Additional Information

This unit typically handles a high patient turnover, managing between 78 to 90 patients weekly. As part of the caregiving team, you will be expected to work collaboratively and maintain a focus on patient safety and quality care.
