Registered Nurse (RN) – Med-Surg

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a Med-Surg unit. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Med-Surg setting.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, executing appropriate interventions as necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and post-discharge care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 16 private rooms
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 with 1:3 accommodations for acuity
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments: ETOH detox, Post PCI, DKA/HHS, Cardiac, GI, BIPAP

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in a Med-Surg or related setting
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (Must have training in ACLS or some type of rhythm interpretation course)
• Skills: EKG/Cardiac Monitoring, Respiratory assessment and support, Medication titration
• Float Requirements: Willingness to float to other units as needed

Work Schedule

This position requires 12-hour night shifts with a commitment to working 36 hours per week. Candidates should be available to work two weekend shifts within a two-week pay period.
