Cardiac Stepdown/Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac Stepdown/Tele Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac telemetry and stepdown nursing, specifically with experience managing chest tubes and dysrhythmia. This position will involve caring for cardiac surgery patients in a step-down unit following their recovery from intensive care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on a Cardiovascular Stepdown/Telemetry Unit.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry readings, managing dysrhythmias as they arise.
• Oversee patients with chest tubes, ensuring proper management and care.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and recovery processes.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in Virginia or a Compact License.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with a focus on cardiovascular care.
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and patient care in a stepdown or intermediate care setting.

Schedule

This position requires 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, primarily on nights, with every other weekend availability.

Additional Information

COVID-19 vaccinations may be required. During the flu season (October 1st – March 31st), the flu vaccine is mandatory. Exemptions for medical or religious reasons may be considered in accordance with CMS guidelines.
