Radiologic Technologist

Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist demonstrates comprehensive knowledge in General Diagnostic Radiology and adheres to departmental protocols and policies. This professional will utilize technical expertise to troubleshoot work unit issues and actively share knowledge with colleagues and students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify the accuracy of patient demographics, emulsion markers, and examination requests.
• Critique, orient, and save all relevant images, ensuring successful transmission of quality-assured images to PACS.
• Document the completion or cancellation of procedures in the RIS, noting comments when necessary.
• Provide timely production of quality radiographic images and assess the appropriateness of radiographic orders.
• Review the daily schedule and monitor the status of patients waiting for examinations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, documenting incidents and communicating improvement opportunities to supervisors.
• Utilize RIS, CIS, PACS, and SMS to access information and document the status of procedures accurately.
• Verify patient identity and gather relevant patient history before examinations.
• Review pregnancy status and assess patients’ physical conditions while developing an action plan for examinations.
• Respond to emergency situations and ensure patient safety throughout the examination process.

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience:

• No prior experience required.

Required Education:

• Accredited Associate’s Degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• ARRT Certified in Radiography.
• Must maintain registry status and complete annual continuing education requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.

Additional Information:

• Must be proficient in portable radiography and may be required to float to outpatient locations as needed.
• The standard schedule is Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
