Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Medical Surgical unit. This role involves providing high-quality patient care and will require a commitment to a night shift schedule.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical Surgical
• Number of Beds: 28
• Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
• Common Diagnoses: Cardiology, Surgical Oncology, Urology, Complex General Med Surg Patients

Shift and Scheduling

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Yes, time off requests not approved over holidays

Qualifications

• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in a medical-surgical setting
• Required Certifications: BLS Certification

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care to a diverse population, focusing on both surgical and medical needs.
• Participate in patient assessments and contribute to care planning.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
• Engage in self-scheduling to promote work-life balance.
• Act as a resource for less experienced staff members, assisting in training and education.

Additional Information

• Fingernail Policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
• Orientation: 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation will be provided.
• Floating Requirement: Potential to float to other units based on skill level.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs are required.
