Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for various units, including Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU. Candidates must have experience in ICU and should be willing to float to Medical Surgical units as needed. Extensive cardiac experience is a requirement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards, policies, and state laws.
• Documents patient care activities according to established standards.
• Develops, initiates, and executes individualized patient plans of care, as prescribed by the physician and hospital policies, including education for patients and families.
• Participates in performance improvement activities within the department or unit, which may include shared governance.
• Provides clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal care plan.
• Employs critical thinking to ensure patient safety and enhance the patient experience, appropriately escalating concerns to the relevant supervisory channel.

Shift Information

Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Holiday coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NIHSS.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required.
