Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing essential care to patients during labor and delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients during labor and delivery.
• Assist with labor inductions and manage multiple drips including Pitocin, magnesium, and insulin.
• Provide care for various patient diagnoses, including preterm labor and multiple gestations.
• Manage cases of preeclampsia and postpartum hemorrhages.
• Circulate in the operating room for C-sections and other necessary procedures.
• Administer epidurals and participate in resuscitation for patients 22 weeks and above.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• EPIC experience is required.
• Must be able to recover C-sections.
• Certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15).
• Work schedule options: 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Every other weekend required.
• Travelers may float within Women’s Services.

Patient Care Environment

• Unit ratios of 1:2, managing 21 rooms/beds.
• Patient diagnoses include individuals 14 weeks and above in triage and 20 weeks and above in Labor & Delivery.
• Three operating rooms available for special procedures.

Facilities and Equipment

• Utilize specialized equipment such as epidural pumps, PCAs, Alaris pumps, and fluid warmers.
• Experience with nitrous oxide and amnio infusions is preferred but not required.

Orientation and Training

Comprehensive orientation includes EPIC training and a mix of unit and operating room experience.

Dress Code

Scrubs will be provided. Please be aware that the dress code stipulates only natural hair colors.
