Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele

Job Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry, focusing on providing high-quality care to patients in an acute care setting. The role requires the nurse to work primarily with the elderly population, facilitating their recovery and maintaining their cognitive and physical functions.

Scheduling Details

• Shift Hours: Night shifts (3×12 hours: 19:00 – 07:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Off Policy: The facility may cancel one shift every two weeks.
• RTO/Block & Special Scheduling Requests: All requests must be submitted upfront and are subject to facility approval.
• Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide care in a telemetry-capable environment for patients aged 65 and older.
• Manage IV starts, blood product administration, and central, peripheral, and PICC line management.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and perform remote telemetry monitoring.
• Implement heparin protocols and provide telemetry-capable care.
• Focus on geriatric patient care, helping maintain cognitive and physical functions.

Qualifications

• Years of Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience in an MS/Tele unit.
• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
• EHR Proficiency: At least 1 year of experience using EPIC electronic health records.
• Licensing: Must possess an active South Carolina or multistate nursing license.

Unit and Patient Population

The MS/Tele unit consists of 26 beds dedicated to the Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) population, focusing on preserving mobility and reducing patient length of stay through a specialized team of Geriatric Resource Nurses.

Additional Information

Agency staff may be required to float to other units or locations as needed, based on their qualifications and documented competencies.
