Unit Overview

The Intermediate Care Unit is a specialized 12-bed unit focused on critical care and neuroscience principles. The unit primarily cares for patients who have transitioned from the Neuro ICU and includes a diverse range of patient populations.

Patient Population

Common patient diagnoses include:

• Neuro trauma
• Subarachnoid hemorrhage
• Intraventricular hemorrhage
• Intracerebral hemorrhage
• ENT patients with cancer undergoing tumor resection and flap reconstruction
• Post-operative spine patients
• A variety of neurological conditions

Job Details

• Patient Ratio: 1:3
• Shift: Night 4×12-Hour (19:00 – 07:00)
• Schedule: 13 weeks, working every other weekend and holiday
• Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays
• Ability to approve 40 hours for time off

Requirements

• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Must adhere to float policies within the healthcare system
• Epic experience required
• VA license pending is acceptable
