Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This role is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Progressive Care. The position involves 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends. Float coverage may be required as needed across multiple regional locations.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Medical Neuroscience Progressive Care Unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding to changes as necessary.
• Utilize centralized cardiac monitoring for ongoing patient surveillance.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Perform specialized procedures and technical skills related to neurological care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Experience in a Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is required.
• Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH are mandatory.
• Familiarity with CVA care, external CPAP/BiPAP, TR band usage, and Yale Swallowing screen is essential.
• Previous experience in a charge nurse role is preferred.

Unit Information

The unit consists of 30 beds dedicated to medical neurological patients, aiming to provide specialized care for various neurological conditions. A Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department supports the unit with continuous patient monitoring.

Scheduling

The staff scheduling operates on a self-assisted model via an online platform, allowing for flexible scheduling over 6-week periods.
