Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information

12-hour night shifts from 1845 to 0715, with a scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. There are no guaranteed hours.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.

Certifications and Requirements

Candidates must possess the following certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Note: Travelers not currently holding an active State of Hawaii license must apply for it upon acceptance of the offer. Candidates must have the Hawaii License by the start of the assignment.

Medical and religious exemption requests will not be accepted in lieu of documented proof of immunity.

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will float between various medical and surgical units, performing a range of nursing duties, including but not limited to:

• Providing patient care in medical and surgical environments
• Administering medications and treatments as ordered
• Monitoring patients’ conditions and reports changes to the healthcare team
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care

Unit Information

The RN will provide care in the following units:

• Medical Unit (77 beds)
• Laulima Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds)
• Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds, on rare occasions)

The nurse-to-patient ratios are as follows:

• Medical Unit: 1:6 for day and evening shifts; 1:8 for night shifts
• Laulima Unit: 1:6
• Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4

Please note that ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.

Dress Code

Professional nursing attire, including clean scrubs, is required.

Orientation and Training

Orientation and training will be provided for each unit to ensure familiarity with specific procedures and equipment.

Holiday Coverage

Availability for holiday coverage is required.
