Pediatric Emergency Department Nurse

Schedule

This position involves rotating shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights), with a strong preference for candidates willing to work 48 hours per week. Weekend, holiday, on-call, and callback responsibilities will be assigned based on unit needs.

Overview

The Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) provides family-centered care to patients under the age of 19 with urgent and emergent health issues. Our facility is a Level 1 pediatric trauma and burn center featuring:

• 18 general care beds
• 1 critical care bed
• 4 urgent care beds
• 7 bed trauma bay shared with the adult emergency department

Our department handles a complex case mix, ranging from treat-and-release scenarios to acute critical care and trauma situations. All staff are trained to excel in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric emergency department experience required
• Burn care experience is highly desirable
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Current PALS certification from AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from AHA required
• New York State RN License required
• NIHSS certification required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in burn care
• TNCC certification preferred
• ATCN certification preferred
• ABLS certification preferred
