Radiology Operations Manager

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Administrative Director and other senior leadership, the Radiology Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the administrative, informational, compliance, and operational functions of all patient care sections within the department. The manager will ensure efficient staffing, collaborate on resource utilization, resolve performance management issues, and manage clinical activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Radiation Oncology area, ensuring compliance with standards set by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).
• Supervise clinical staff and ensure high-quality patient care through effective training and performance management.
• Advocate for and uphold customer service standards within the department, focusing on ownership, appearance, communication, and safety awareness.
• Maintain quality assurance and regulatory compliance across all patient care sections.

Work Schedule:

• This is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts.

Holiday Requirements:

• Availability during key holiday periods, including Thanksgiving and Christmas, is required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Radiation Therapy.
• A minimum of 2 years of management and supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Oncology or Business Administration is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in both formal and informal settings.
• Exceptional communication skills and professional judgment.
• Strong customer service and physician relations skills.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse is highly preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Must hold a current Massachusetts Radiology license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (T) and Registered Technologist Radiography (RTR) is required.
