Registered Nurse (RN)

The position is for a hospital float pool staff member who will provide nursing care across various departments, including the Emergency Department, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU. The role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to different unit needs.

Position Details

• Floating: This is a float pool position, with patient care ratios of up to 1:6 in Medical Surgical.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend is required.
• Call: No on-call duties are required.
• Schedule Requests: Due to the nature of pool staffing, flexibility is a must. Block schedule requests will not be accommodated.

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required; first-time travelers are accepted.
• Aya Offer: Following confirmation of acceptance, the manager will review the candidate’s profile and schedule within 48 hours to ensure a good fit.

Compliance and Orientation

• Compliance: Full compliance is required to start on time. Non-compliance may delay the start by two weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.
• Orientation Hours: The number of non-billable orientation hours is based on the assignment length (e.g., 8 hours for an 8-week assignment, 10 hours for a 10-week assignment).

Holiday Expectations

If the assignment period includes major holidays, the traveler is expected to work as follows:

• One major holiday: Work one holiday.
• Two major holidays: Work both holidays.
• Three major holidays: Work two of the holidays.

Major Holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day.
