Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical/Orthopedic unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical-Surgical/Orthopedic
• Number of Beds: 32
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Common Diagnoses: Medical/Surgical with a specialty in post-operative cancer interventions (e.g., prostatectomy, mastectomy)

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 0630-1900
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend, with a total of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday Requirement: Rotating

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care and ensure accurate documentation.
• Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Titrate intravenous drips as necessary, including heparin, lidocaine, and TPN gtt.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to enhance patient care.
• Participate in unit orientation and adhere to department-specific protocols.

Qualifications

• Active RN License
• BLS Certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical-surgical setting
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Additional Information

• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas; refusal to comply will lead to contract termination.
• Driver’s license required for eligibility verification.
• Unit orientation will be provided upon hire.
