Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse

We are seeking skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position. This role involves floating to various pediatric units, including PICU, NICU, Pediatric MedSurg, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients across multiple units.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in critical care situations.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and families.
• Utilize Epic for patient documentation and management.

Schedule

This position is night shifts, requiring either 36 or 48 hours of work per week. Candidates must be available for every other weekend and every other holiday, including working two out of the three winter holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of experience in PICU.
• Must have NICU experience and be comfortable in pediatric settings.
• Previous float pool experience in NICU or PICU is a plus.
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Pediatric PACU experience is highly preferred.
• Dr. Brown’s Infant Driven Feeding Certification is required but may be pending upon application, with associated costs for certification.
• Must adhere to float pool policies.
• Virginia nursing license is required, but applicants with a pending license may still apply.

Note

Block scheduling cannot be accommodated. Requests for time off will not be accepted during the first two weeks of this assignment. Candidates must be prepared to meet the demands of a float position within a fast-paced pediatric environment.
