Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves floating between various units, including medical/surgical, telemetry, and emergency care, to provide essential nursing support across the institution. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to patient care in a dynamic environment.

Shift Details

• 3×12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Potential for 48-hour work weeks, pending manager approval

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for a diverse patient population, including emergency boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical cases.
• Support nursing teams by filling in as needed across various units to ensure optimal patient care and staffing.
• Manage patient workloads with nurse-to-patient ratios varying from 1:4 to 1:6, based on unit acuity.
• Perform core charge nurse duties when assigned to smaller units, including staffing management, bed flow coordination, and general administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Current and valid nursing license as a Registered Nurse.
• Charge nurse experience is required.
• Prior nursing experience in the United States is mandatory; Canadian experience alone is not sufficient.
• Experience in telemetry/med-surg and cardiac step-down units is preferred but not required.

Charting

Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records is an asset.
