Cath Lab Tech

Shift Details

Scheduled for 4×12 hour days (06:30 – 19:00). Weekend work required for 2-3 weekends per contract.

Job Responsibilities

The Cath Lab Technician will be responsible for the following:

• Assisting in cardiac diagnostic procedures with expertise in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization.
• Performing a variety of procedures including but not limited to:
• Cardiac Implant Closure Device
• Cardiac Stent Placement
• Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
• IABP Placement/Removal
• Interpreting dysrhythmias
• Left Heart Catheterization
• Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
• Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
• Right Heart Catheterization
• Rotablader Atherectomy
• Scrubbing Procedures
• Setting up equipment and recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Adhering to infection control standards such as isolation precautions and sterile technique.
• Demonstrating age-specific competencies, particularly with middle and older adults.

Qualifications

Key qualifications for this role include:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Tech.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, ARRT, RCIS.
• Experience with Cerner charting system is required.
• No floating within the scope to meet facility needs.
• Active license required; pending licenses are not accepted.
• Restrictions on time off: Ideally no more than 5 days.

Additional Information

The Cath Lab Technician may be required to participate in a rotating on-call schedule, which will be discussed with the manager. A dedicated call team is available to provide support.

This position operates within a state-of-the-art acute care hospital rated as a Level I trauma center and recognized as a Magnet facility, with a total of 562 staffed beds.

Parking permits are required; however, there is no cost for parking, with arrangements made during orientation.
