Acute Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN)

This position is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to adult patients in an acute rehabilitation setting. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe and effective nursing care to a diverse adult patient population.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to create and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting changes and reporting to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding care plans and health management.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and uphold standards of practice.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of Iowa.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care experience, preferably in rehabilitation or medical-surgical nursing.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Experience with common rehabilitation diagnoses such as neuro, trauma, and burn, along with gait training and wound care.
• Must possess a mandatory reporter certification for child and adult abuse.

Unit Information:

• Type of Unit: Acute Rehabilitation
• Number of Beds: 13
• Patient Ratios: 1 RN to 6 patients
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Meditech
• Required Float to Medical-Surgical as needed.

Additional Information:

• Available start dates: Monday or Tuesday.
• Every other weekend commitment required.
• Use of lift equipment is available to assist with patient mobility.
