Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

Join our team as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, where you will play a crucial role in providing care to expectant mothers and their newborns. This position is located in a comprehensive maternity services setting with a Level II NICU.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-risk perinatal care in a Level III setting.
• Care for patients in labor and delivery, postpartum, and antepartum units.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
• Assist with triage, utilizing a skilled team of RNs.
• Participate in collaborative care with multidisciplinary teams, including OB/GYNs, CRNAs, and surgical techs.
• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery.
• Document patient care in electronic medical records using EPIC.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Experience in facilities with 100-200 deliveries preferred; facilities with 200+ deliveries will be prioritized.
• Citations include: BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring certification.
• Ability to float to postpartum as needed.

Unit Information:

• High-risk perinatal care setting with:
• 19 labor and delivery beds
• 10 antepartum beds
• 30 postpartum beds
• 3 Operating Rooms (ORs)
• 2 Post-Anesthesia Care Units (PACU)
• 7-bay triage area
• Staffing goals include:
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in labor
• 1:3 couplets in postpartum with CNA support
• 1:2-3 in antepartum settings
• Available team members include:
• 3 skilled RNs for triage shifts
• 3-4 delivering providers 24/7
• 2 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) 24/7
• 2 Health Unit Coordinators 24/7

Additional Information:

• Shift: Night shifts (4×12 hours, 19:00 – 07:30).
• Weekends are required.
• All requests for time off must be submitted during the application process.
• Parking costs covered by the facility.
• Scrub color is flexible, but reddish orange is not permitted.
