Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

Job Overview

This position is a Temp to Hire opportunity open to both local and non-local candidates. The schedule consists of five 8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. No weekend work is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs assessments, including height/weight, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and pulse oximetry.
• Prepare patients for examination by positioning, draping, and recording history, medications, and allergies.
• Set up and assist with various clinical procedures, such as dressing changes and Pap smears.
• Administer injections, including immunizations and both intradermal and intramuscular injections.
• Collect specimens for laboratory tests, ensuring proper labeling of samples including sputum, stool, throat, urine, and vaginal specimens.
• Conduct laboratory tests such as strep tests and urinalysis.
• Manage office duties including authorization forms, chart preparation, insurance verification, ordering supplies, and scheduling appointments.
• Conduct follow-up phone calls and review lab tests.
• Perform patient rooming, suture removal, and wound care.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) is required; other certifications will not be accepted.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience working as an MA-C in an adult outpatient clinic setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Proficient in using EPIC for charting purposes.
• Ability to assist in multiple types of procedures while adhering to aseptic techniques.
