Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ER RN will be responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing nursing care for patients in the emergency department.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Perform thorough assessments, administer medications, and manage patient care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in conditions promptly.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health management.

Schedule and Shifts

The ER RN position requires three 12-hour shifts. Candidates must be available for weekend shifts, typically every other weekend. There are no requirements for floating between units or on-call duties.

Patient Care Ratios

The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 RN to 4 patients.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and handle multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Special Requirements

Candidates should be prepared to work occasional weekends and must be willing to adjust to the dynamic nature of emergency care.

Additional Information

This position is approved for 48 hours per week.
