Respiratory Therapist – RRT

Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a dynamic healthcare team. This role involves providing high-level respiratory care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory care.
• First-time travelers are welcome.
• Experience in ER, Adult ICU, Med/Surg, and ICU/Stepdown settings is required.
• Respiratory care skills including airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, arterial blood gases (ABGs), oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulization, BiPAP, CPAP, Vest therapy, Meta-neb, PAP therapy, and heated high-flow.
• EPIC experience is mandatory.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NC License, and RRT credentials.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with bronchoscopes is a plus.
• NRP certification is preferred, but not required.
• Note: CRT credentials will not be accepted.

Job Details

• Patient Ratios: 35-45 patients per day.
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15); options for 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Contract length: 13 weeks or longer, with end dates through 2/27.
• RTO Policy: Maximum of 7 days for Aya Auto Offer.
• Call Requirement: On-call as needed based on workload.
• Float Requirement: No floating to other facilities, only within the unit.
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week timeframe.

Patient Diagnoses

The department handles a variety of cases, spanning from adolescents to geriatrics, with a focus on respiratory care. Responsibilities will include working in med/surg and ICU step-down units, and possibly in the ED.

Special Equipment

The role will involve the use of advanced respiratory equipment such as Servo I, Servo U, Hamilton T1, V60, Night-time VPAP, Omni-labs, V30s, and ABL90 ABG machine.

Unit Orientation

Orientation is scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM, followed by night shifts. Night shift Respiratory Therapists will require a few days of daytime orientation.

Scrubs

Standard scrubs will be black.
