Nurse Manager

Position Summary

The Nurse Manager oversees the daily operations of the Sub-Regional Clinic to facilitate coordinated patient flow and provide comprehensive patient care. The role ensures accurate and current medical records, optimizing reimbursement for services, and delivering essential documentation for effective clinic management. The Nurse Manager serves as a liaison between departments and is responsible for staffing within the clinic.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the clinic to ensure efficient patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation to support clinic operations and reimbursement.
• Act as a liaison between various departments to enhance communication and collaboration.
• Recruit, train, and supervise nursing staff within the clinic.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in healthcare management.
• Facilitate coordinated patient flow between the clinic and other healthcare providers.

Position Qualifications

• Completion of a nursing education program from an NLN approved institution is required.
• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
• A minimum of five years of progressive nursing management experience with three years of clinical nursing experience is preferred.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the State of Alaska is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Ability to effectively utilize office equipment and computer systems typical in a medical outpatient setting.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory agency standards and the ability to manage care across the continuum.
• Must possess flexibility in scheduling and the ability to take independent actions within defined limits.
