IR/Special Procedure Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IR/Special Procedure Technologist to join our team. This position requires expertise in various diagnostic equipment and procedures, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring patient safety and adherence to radiation safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform interventional and special radiographic procedures in accordance with established protocols.
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of applicable diagnostic equipment, procedures, and techniques.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety policies.
• Provide high-quality patient care while ensuring comfort and safety during procedures.
• Participate in rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, as well as mandatory overtime as needed to ensure adequate unit coverage.

Qualifications

• Radiography Registry [R.T. (R)] by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
• Two (2) years of experience in performing interventional and special radiographic procedures is preferred.
• Hybrid interventional radiology experience is desired.
• Possession of a cardiac interventional or vascular interventional registry by the ARRT, or registry eligibility with the ability to obtain the registry within six months of employment.
• Current Connecticut State license to practice radiography must be maintained during employment.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.

Additional Information

This position entails working 40 hours per week with rotating start times. The successful candidate will demonstrate considerable knowledge of human physiology and anatomy and possess strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
