Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA)

Job Overview

This position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care in various surgical settings. The RNFA will perform essential support tasks during surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes while adhering to best practices and regulatory standards.

Schedule

• Estimated on-call duty of 8 days during a 6-week schedule, evenly distributed among RNFAs.
• Kidney call rotation:
  • Monday through Friday: 1800-0600
  • Saturday and Sunday: 24 hours from 0600-0600
• General call rotation on Saturdays and Sundays: 0700-1700
• Holiday general call rotation: 0700-1700; no kidney call on holidays.

Work Schedule Options

• 4 days a week (10-hour shifts)
• 3 days a week (12-hour shifts)

Qualifications

• 3 years of scrub and circulating experience required.
• Proficient in the following specialties:
  • Robotics
  • Bariatric
  • General
  • Colorectal
  • Orthopedic/Spine
  • Vascular
  • Urology
  • Gynecology

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures by providing direct support to the surgical team.
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
• Monitor patient conditions preoperatively and postoperatively.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the surgical process.
