Sterile Processing Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping processes. This role requires adherence to rigorous standards of patient safety and infection control.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization processes and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Decontaminate, assemble, and wrap surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and logs related to sterilization and processing activities.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure the availability of necessary instruments for various procedures.
• Participate in training and orientation of new staff members as needed.
• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for sterilization practices.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, including knowledge of sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping.
• Experience with a variety of surgical cases, including neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedics, transplant, and GYN is preferred.
• Level I Trauma experience is required.
• National certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA are necessary.
• BLS certification is not required.

Work Schedule

This position offers a full-time schedule consisting of 5 shifts per week from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotation during holidays. Weekend rotation may be required based on departmental needs.

Additional Information

• Local candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• All requests for time off must be provided at the time of submission and will not be approved after contract signing.
• Travelers should be aware of potential emergency response assignments during hurricane season, which runs from June through November.
• Parking is available with a one-time payment for a parking pass during night and weekend shifts.
