Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our Neuroscience Med/Surg unit. This unit specializes in the treatment of stroke and TIA patients, as well as higher acuity med-surg cases. Our focus is on enhancing patient experience while ensuring effective and efficient care delivery.

Schedule

The position requires working 4×12 hour shifts during the day, from 06:45 AM to 07:15 PM, with weekend coverage every other weekend. Float may be required based on unit needs and skill set.

Patient Demographics

The nurse will be working primarily with adult and geriatric patients presenting with a variety of diagnoses, including:

• Stroke/TIA
• Seizure
• Syncope
• Pneumonia (PNA)
• Chest Pain
• Dialysis
• Acute Kidney Failure
• Post Heart Catheterization
• Respiratory Failure
• Encephalopathy
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Sepsis

Special Procedures/Unit Details

The unit is equipped to manage peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation, thereby catering to various patient needs efficiently.

Staffing Ratios

The staffing ratio for night shifts is 1 nurse to 6 patients, ensuring manageable workloads and focused patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Tennessee
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a similar setting
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health record system
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required)
• Previous travelers are not eligible for this position
